An Open Letter to Lake Norman: Reflections on the Past Five Years

Updated: Sep 9, 2023

I didn’t get a chance to say a proper goodbye to the incredible Lake Norman community – my team, my office, and my patients, with whom I spent the past five unforgettable years. You shaped my career and my understanding of humanity in countless ways, and it is with a heavy heart that I explore my next chapter. I wanted to pen an open letter here to thank you.

Billboard
Welcome Back Home Billboard

After graduating from fellowship, I moved back home to North Carolina and was greeted with this ridiculously embarrassing billboard announcing the start of my practice here. But, yes, I absolutely took the opportunity to capture some photos of me jumping for joy next to my sign along the side of the highway. Hey, those 15 minutes of fame weren’t going to last forever! This indeed was home, and I felt welcomed with open arms.

Halloween 2022: Team Operation!

My team (affectionately named “Mu’s Cru”) was made of the most extraordinary, kind, compassionate, and capable young women, proudly embracing girl power in dermatology! I was touched daily by the genuine empathy with which they took care of our patients. As you can tell, we grew a bit in size over the years. In addition to adding new teammates, we welcomed eight babies on our team over five years together. People were right to question what was in our drinking water.

Love Denver: a free back-to-school event sponsored by the incredible work of local churches

Over the next five years, I loved being a part of the growth and excitement of the Lake Norman expansion. Our office spaces got bigger and added on new dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and aesthetician! Here we are at the annual Love Denver event and representing Women-in-Business in our spread last year.

I am so touched by the thousands of patients we had the opportunity to serve along the way. I am moved by our referring providers who partnered with us in caring for this beautiful community. I appreciate the warmth and friendship of our patients every day. We met growing pains with strength and resilience, and I am touched to have been a part of it all.

I do not know what’s next for me, but I hope this site will serve as a portal to stay in touch. These past five years have taught me life is unpredictable, and we can only embrace the highs with the lows. We cherish the people we get to spend time with along the way. In that vein, please don’t hesitate to reach out- I want to hear from you!

Hello our Fabulous Dr Mu!

We hope that you and yours are doing well! Can’t express how awesome you are. Playing Lizo while my wife had her biopsy was such a thoughtful and awesome stress reliever. A visit with the Doc isn’t supposed to be be so cool and I’m extremely thankful that no one told you.

Take care and stay in touch! I need a referral for a friend with extreme psoriasis that needs immediate attention. Please email me if you know of someone: Eva@ConnerConstructs.com
